Summer Beauty Summer is exhilarating, too, at Crystal Mountain. You can visit Mount Rainier National Park nearby. Climbing the mountain is a challenge and the adventurous amongst you can try this daunting task. But for the other 2 million tourists who come here each year, the park means hiking through alpine meadows, camping in the park and enjoying the area’s scenic beauty and varied wildlife. The summit of Crystal Mountain offers a breathtaking view of Mount Rainier, a 14,400-foot volcano. Every weekend, from July to September, chairlift rides are organized. Take a ride and enjoy the scenic beauty of the undulating terrain of this region, just as beautiful as any in Switzerland. This area also boasts of a variety of hiking trails. Popular with the tourists is the 12-mile long Crystal Mountain Trail both for hiking and mountain biking. You can do it the easy way by riding up in the chairlift and then slowly hiking down. You may enjoy the guided horseback trips too. Summer is also the time to indulge in some fishing or even swimming.
Crystal Mountain unquestionably deserves its name as the “best of the west” ski resort, but it also offers great outdoor fun in the summer. Not surprising that it is a favorite tourist destination all round the year.
