The Prairies and Lakes
Although this region is called Prairies and Lakes, it has so much more to offer the visitor, from metropolitan cities to great sports arenas, and great cultural attractions. The region ranges from the Red River in the north through the heart of the state with many prairies and farms and over 50 lakes, but it’s the combination of the heartland and the cities that gives this area its character. It’s a blazing hot summer afternoon, but the scorching heat does not seem to affect the crowds at Schlitterbahn, New Braunfels. Some of them are enjoying a drink at the floating bar.
