Umpleby House, circa 1833 Classic Revival plaster-over-stone manor house adjacent to Wedgwood House. On National Registry of Historic Places. A warm, friendly & hospitable inn, each one of the inn\'s accommodations has a distinct personality. Rooms are graced with fresh-cut flowers all year long and are hand-painted/stenciled by a New Hope artist. Guest rooms feature antiques, original art, scented English soaps, plush towels, extra pillows plus brass ceiling fans, and some have private porches, 2 person Jacuzzi tubs, and/or fireplaces. Private Pool* and tennis club privileges for guests too. Also voted \"excellent\" by AAA and MOBIL. We also hold workshops for aspiring innkeepers.
Days always begin with a generous homebaked breakfast and end with a tot of Carl\'s secret almond liquor and chocolates at your bedside. The Glassman family have been graciously serving business and leisure travelers since 1982. On busline from NYC, with a barn for bike storage too! Breakfast-in-bed is always an option!

Second floor corner room with Queen size bed and large private bathroom (2 person shower) features three deep-set, paneled windows and wide random- width pumpkin pine floors and hand-made hook rugs. The connecting sitting room has a 2 person Jacuzzi tub with Mercer tiles facing a gas-lit fireplace with custom wood paneling and an Italian marble mantel. There is also a color cable tv, 2 brass and wood ceiling fans, a/c and telephone with voicemail. The entire suite is handpainted and stenciled.
U-8 Spiral Staircase Suite Queen size bed, a/c, 2 levels connected by an interesting, but narrow oak spiral staircase. Kitchenette, sitting area, telephone w/voicemail, instant hot water, on 1st floor with entry door off deck or inn entrance. 2nd floor bedroom with color cable tv, balcony & bath with shower only. Individual temperature controls. Ceiling fan on each level too.
*U-3 Lower Gardenview Room Queen \"Victorian\", large corner 1st floor room, 7 windows, large private bath with tub, a/c, separate exterior door. (3rd person, any age) Telephone w/voicemail. Instant hotwater tap.

*U-10 Deluxe Suite 2-story Carriage House, c. 1890 in rear yard. 1st floor: 9 windows, sitting area, free-standing wood burning fireplace with glass door, kitchenette and private bath (shower only) and telephone w/voicemail. 2nd floor: 1 bedroom, \"queen size French Victorian bed\", a/c, color cable TV. Two doors leading out to private, covered deck overlooking back gardens. Sofa bed (twin) on 1st floor. (3rd person, any age).
U-1/2 Umpleby\'s Two Room Suite First floor corner room with Queen-size French Victorian walnut bed and large private bathroom (shower) features 3 deep-set, paneled windows (north and western exposures) and fabulous wide random-width pumpkin pine floors and hand-made hook rugs. Adjoining sitting room has a two-person Jacuzzi tub with custom tilling facing a gas fireplace. Color cable TV, two brass & wood ceiling fans, a/c and telephone with voicemail too. The entire suite is hand-painted and stenciled by New Hope artist Cheryl Raywood.
U-9 Loft Suite King size bed, very large 3rd floor space, a/c, private bath (shower only), sitting area, desk, refrigerator and hot water tap. Private Victorian porch overlooking back gardens. Lots of charm: exposed stone walls, exposed wood beams and pumpkin-pine floors. ( 3rd person over 4 years) Telephone w/voicemail. Cable TV. Electric Franklin fireplace.

All arriving guests should check-in at the Wedgwood House (111 West Bridge Street, Rt. 179, New Hope, between 3 pm and 9:30 pm (7:30 pm on Saturdays) EST or by pre-arranged time. Leave your bags in the car and Ring DoorBell for Service. Call 215-862-2570 if you will be arriving after we close for special instructions.
We are open 7 days a week, all year \'round. Please call in advance and make an appointment to preview our Inn.
DIRECTIONS (Always consult a map)
From New York and North including Newark Int\'l Airport:
Take either Route 80 West to Morristown or Route 78 West (near Newark, NJ airport) to Somerville (NJ).
Take Route 287 South toward Somerville.
Follow signs to Flemington, Route 202 South and exit (Exit #17).
Proceed approximately 12 miles to a traffic circle; go 1/2 way around and continue on Route 202 South another 12 miles to New Hope Toll Bridge.
Take first exit after toll, marked \"New Hope, Route 32 South\" and proceed app. 1 mile to New Hope\'s one and only traffic light.
Make right at light and proceed to top of hill: The Wedgwood is the big blue Victorian house on the left at the top of the hill.

From Long Island, including JFK Int\'l and Staten Island:
Verrazano Bridge to 440 South to Outer Bridge to Route 287 North to Somerville to Route 202 South to Flemington (continue as above).
From Philadelphia and South including Phil Int\'l Airport:
Take I-95 North to New Hope, exit 51.
Turn left at the end of the exit ramp.
This is Taylorsville Road. Continue 5 miles to stop sign.
This is River Road (Route 32). Turn left at stop sign.
Proceed North on Route 32 app. another 5 miles into the village of New Hope.
Make a left at our one and only traffic light and proceed to the Wedgwood; the big blue Victorian house on the top of hill, left side.
From points West:
PA Turnpike East to Route 611 North (Willow Grove exit)
Proceed to Route 202 North to Route 179 North.
The Wedgwood will be on the right, just after a school and large field
(on the left).
