Botanists or those just interested in interesting flora will enjoy two hiking trails to view rare and unusual plants. Crane Creek State Park, located outside Toledo, lies on the shore of Lake Erie and is home to a freshwater marsh and a beautiful sandy beach. Bird watchers and nature enthusiasts will be thrilled by the more then 300 species of birds that call the area home. Herons, waterfowls, gulls, and the bald eagle all call this area home. Be sure to enjoy the sandy beach to sunbathe, swim, and fish for bass, pan fish, walleye, muskie, and perch. For a leisurely day, take a tour of historic downtown Wilmington. See homes in the Federal, Greek Revival, Gothic Revival, High Victorian, Italianate, Queen Anne, and Stick styles. This quaint town is also home to great shops selling collectibles, jewelry, fine furniture, antiques, novelties, books, and clothing.
