This is a 2 bedroom/1 bath mountain cabin situated on 11 heavily wooded acres overlooking Camp Creek. It has all the comforts of home with 2 covered porches, central heat, stone fireplace, washer and dryer, microwave, and a full kitchen.
Things to bring:
Sheets (We have a full size bed, 2 twin beds, & a queen-size sleeper sofa), Towels and washcloths, Toiletries, Charcoal and lighter fluid for barbecue grill.
The cabin is located 18 miles West of Murphy, North Carolina,about 5 miles from the Ocoee River Rafting Area (site of the 1996 Whitewater Rafting Olympics), 100 miles north of Atlanta, 95 miles from Asheville, 65 miles from Chattanooga and 115 miles from Knoxville TN.
Some of the local and nearby attractions are: the Hiwassee Lake, the Ocoee River Rafting Center, the Nantahala Forest and River (both nationally know centers for whitewater rafting), the Cherokee National Forest with 652,000 acres for biking, camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting and swimming; the Cherohala Skyway and of course, beautiful mountain scenery all year round. You'll enjoy the surrounding areas with their craft and antique shops, flea markets, golfing, fishing, swimming, and boating. Have fun doing any of the above, travel within two hours of just about every major mountain attraction or just have fun relaxing and enjoying the mountain air!
Here in our mountain home in the heart of the Smokies, you'll find as much to do as you want. Enjoy the serenity and beauty of the mountains, lakes, and waterfalls, all nearby. Visit a dam, go fishing, hiking, antiquing, or even experience the thrill of whitewater rafting, all are just a few minutes away. Georgia and Tennessee, with their many scenic and historical sites are all nearby. Enjoy Cherokee, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Helen, Rock City, Atlanta and Chattanooga, all are about 2 hours away.
Or, just sit a spell on our porch swing, listen to the sounds of Camp Creek and watch the hummingbirds buzz by. At night, light the fireplace and enjoy a family game night or settle in to read a good book, or try your luck at a jigsaw puzzle (all of which we provide). Whether you choose to go sightseeing or just "sit a spell" and lounge in our beautifully decorated home, we know you'll enjoy your stay in our mountain home - HIGH HILL HAVEN!
