The Southern Region
The Southern region of New York is where vacationers will find the Long Island, New York City, and the Hudson Valley. See a play on Broadway and then hop on a ferry for a trip around the city. See the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Chinatown, Little Italy, and Wall Street. New York is full of experiences that can only be found in the City. The Hudson Valley is home to the United States Military Academy at West Point. This National Historic Site is the country’s premier leadership institution, founded in 1802. See where some of our country’s best and well-known leaders were trained. Golfers will want to play at Dinsmore Golf Course in Staatsburg. This course, built in 1890, has beautiful panoramic views of the Hudson River and the Catskill Mountains and is a golfing experience like no other. Outdoors enthusiasts might want to spend a day or two hiking on the 35 miles of the Appalachian Trail that run through the region. The trail offers spectacular views of the Hudson River and Greenwood Lake and also passes through the Bear Mountain Wildlife Center. New York is a vacation destination that offers it all; cultural and historical attractions, quaint towns, bustling metropolitans, and gorgeous state parks. |
