Traditions of the past can also be seen in the musical entertainment provided at the Lake. The pioneers used to gather in small communities, enjoy box suppers and music was played for square, round and clog dancing. Visitors today can still enjoy these activities in the small town street dances and festivals, and in the music shows. Lee Mace’s Ozark Opry is a musical variety show and is a quintessential part of the Ozarks experience. Not to be left behind is the live music show of the Main Street Music Hall with current, country, gospel, patriotic and several other genres of music taking center stage. The Great Lake of the Ozarks Gospel Sing is an annual event with some soul stirring music by artists of the Southern Gospel. There is also a vibrant Jazz Festival in October with Big Band, Dixieland and traditional jazz contributing to a great week of music.
