The Twin Cities
The twin cities region, home to Minneapolis-St. Paul, is the entertainment and cultural hub of the upper Midwest. Fascinating museums, professional sports venues, riverboat tours, and a variety of nightspots add to the lure of the Twin Cities. Downtown St. Paul is home to the Minnesota Children's Museum, the Science Museum of Minnesota, and the Minnesota History Center, all offering great cultural and educational experiences. This 14,000-acre lake is filled every weekend with boats searching for walleye, northern, pan fish, and the best largemouth bass fishing in the state. While in town, if you feel the need for a little fresh air and some great outdoors, head to the St. Croix Valley. The river is home to several beautiful and rugged state parks and nature centers including Wild River and Interstate state parks, William O'Brien State Park, and Hasting's Afton State Park and Carpenter Nature Center. Here, you will find water parks, historic sites, and museums that all offer great family fun, plus downhill and cross-country skiing in the winter. |
