Distinct History For those of you who are looking for a bit of culture, Nisswa brings home a flavor of Europe every June. Immigrants from the Scandinavian countries were some of the early settlers here, having arrived between 1800 and the early 1900s. The annual Scandinavian folk music festival, that has something to offer for all age groups, is held in mid June. Join them in their dance, marvel at their costumes and smell the fragrance of the flowers and be transported to another dimension!
A now defunct iron ore mine has been converted into a tourist attraction, the Croft Mine Historical Park, and is well worth a visit. A ride down the shaft and a guided tour of the mine will be a real-life experience. One can even hear the shrill sounds of the drills echoing down the tunnel walls!
