Vacation in Spring and Summer As the weather starts to warm up, Michigan swings into full outdoor gear. The spring and summer are perfect times to vacation in the state if you love the great outdoors and fun activities. Most of the summer activities take place around the waters of the Great Lakes since there is over 3,200 miles of shoreline, 11,000 inland lakes, and with more freshwater coastline than any other state. Head to North Muskegon to spend the day at Blue Lake Park where swimming, sunbathing, fishing, camping, and picnicking are just some of the many things you can do. Or, vacationers might want to see Burt Lake State Park. This beach is located at the heart of the inland waterway, where Burt Lake and the Sturgeon River converge right outside of Indian River. Manistee is home to Orchard Beach State Park where spectacular sunsets can be viewed. This beach is located on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan with superb vistas. Golf lovers will be happy to know that in Grand Rapids there are four championship golf courses: Pilgrim’s Run, St. Ives and Tullymore, The Ravines Golf Club, and the Thousand Oaks Golf Club. Whether you decide to vacation in Michigan in the summer, fall, winter, or spring, there are great opportunities for fun and adventure any time of year! |
