Located just a short walk from the main street in the historic Village of Falmouth, MA. The Captain Tom Lawrence House reflects the warmth and charm of an elegant private home. We invite you to make our Bed and Breakfast Inn, your home away from home, and experience the warmth and hospitality of Falmouth, Massachusetts, Cape Cod\'s historic seaside village. Whatever the occasion - honeymoon, anniversary, or a weekend get-away - the Captain Tom Lawrence House is the Bed and Breakfast Inn for you

~About The Inn

Nestled back from the road and shaded by two ancient maple-trees, the Captain Tom Lawrence House Bed and Breakfast is an intimate inn for those who appreciate fine accommodations and warm hospitality in a beautiful and historic setting.
The Captain Tom Lawrence House reflects the warmth and charm of an elegant private home. With its circular stairwell, hardwood floors, and high ceilings, the house, which is listed on the National Historic Register, remains much as it was when Captain Tom Lawrence lived here more than a century ago.

Located just a short walk from the main street in the historic Village of Falmouth, Cape Cod, the inn, which was originally a whaling captain’s home, offers a blend of New England tradition, old world charm and convenient access for exploring the entire Cape and the nearby islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

We invite you to make our inn your home away from home, and experience the warmth and hospitality of this historic seaside village. Whatever the occasion - honeymoon, anniversary, or a weekend get-away - the Captain Tom Lawrence House is for you.

The inn’s six guestrooms are carefully decorated in soft colors and designer linens and furnished with a variety of antiques. All have private baths, cable television and refrigerators for your convenience. Relax in one of our spacious corner guestrooms, with high four-poster queen-sized canopied beds. Or, perhaps you would prefer the Captain’s room with its graceful lace coronet above the king-sized bed.

Make yourself at home in our air-conditioned inn with its spacious
sitting room, accented with comfortable furnishings and a variety of antique accessories. Daily newspapers, magazines, and plenty of
information about local interests will acquaint you with the area so you can make the most of your stay in Falmouth.

Honeymooners, small families, or anyone looking for peace and privacy also have the option of staying in our spacious fully furnished, centrally air-conditioned apartment.

Breakfast is thoughtfully planned and prepared by your hosts. You\'ll enjoy fresh fruit and a variety of creative entrees such as whole wheat Belgium waffles served with seasonal fruit syrups - the inn\'s specialty. Crepes, omelets or breakfast stratas, brimming with fruit or vegetables, are only some of the fine recipes that you will enjoy before a day exploring Cape Cod and the Islands. Coffee cakes, scones, and muffins - baked fresh daily - complement the sit-down breakfast.

~Rooms

Each of our six beautifully decorated guestrooms, each named for the seafaring adventures of Captain Lawrence, combines the elegance and grace of this 19th Century home with the comfort and conveniences of today. Each guestroom has a private bath, cable television, ceiling fan, and a small refrigerator for your convenience.

Alto Room: Named for the brig on which Tom Lawrence captained his last sea voyage from 1857 to 1862, Alto has both a lace canopied queen bed and an additional twin bed in this elegantly decorated large room.

Mates Room: Named to honor his many ship mates, this cozy corner room with spacious bathroom and queen-sized bed provides privacy and comfort in a restful setting.

Captain\'s Room: With its king-sized bed, cozy reading chair, high ceiling and lace coronet, this magnificent room, Captain Lawrence\'s bedroom, provides honeymooners and couples a romantic and elegant retreat.

Parlor Room: The home\'s original parlor room is now a beautifully decorated first-floor bedroom. Its lace canopied queen-sized bed and additional twin bed are complemented by the soft pastel décor and antique furnishings.

Anaconda Room: Named for the first whaling ship captained by young Tom Lawrence from 1852 to 1856, Anaconda, what many call the \"Blue Room,\" exudes tasteful elegance and comfort. As the room\'s centerpiece, the lace canopied queen-size bed is complemented by antique furnishings.

Addison Room: Bright and sunny, Addison looks out over the giant twin maples that frame the Inn\'s front yard. Named after the second whaling ship that Captain Lawrence mastered from 1848-1852, this room with its floral décor, and queen-size bed is a romantic and cozy getaway.

~FALMOUTH ON CAPE COD

The Falmouth area offers unique shops, entertainment, nature preserves, golf and tennis within minutes of our inn, but it is the attraction of the sea that always provides a memorable and enjoyable visit. Sparkling, sandy beaches are accessible within a mile of the inn. For a different perspective, bicycle, jog, or take a relaxing stroll along the Shining Sea Bikeway - within only feet of the inn. The Bikeway winds its way through beautiful pined woods and along open ocean vistas to Woods Hole, where you may visit the National Marine Fisheries Aquarium, the oldest research aquarium in the nation, and the Exhibit Center of the world-renowned Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Take a day cruise to Martha\'s Vineyard or Nantucket on one of many ferries that regularly leave from the nearby piers.

Falmouth offers visitors a perfect location from which to spend a day exploring the entire Cape. Browse the myriad antique shops along historic Route 6A, or enjoy a day of sun at the magnificent beaches of the National Seashore. Take a trip to watch the whales frolic in their ocean habitat or photograph the famed sand dunes of Provincetown.

Whether you spend the day exploring the Cape, enjoying the spectacular beaches and recreation, or taking part in the many local special events, in the evening you will find an assortment of dining and entertainment just minutes away. The region boasts a unique variety of fine and nationally recognized dining choices and, of course, excellent seafood abounds.

Whatever your interests, we will assist you with your sightseeing and dining plans to ensure that your visit to Cape Cod is relaxing and enjoyable.
