Or turning inland, the picturesque towns and villages from Hallowell on the Kennebec River to Alna and Head Tide; as well as Appleton, Union, Damariscotta Mills, Windsor and Thomaston.

Church fairs and county fairs, strawberry and blueberry festivals, bazaars, and bean suppers abound. Quaint nostalgic eateries, like Moody's Diner here in town, or the well-known restaurants and dining rooms in surrounding areas. From the lobster festival in Rockland, to the lobster and mussel shore-dinners available in almost every fishing harbor, plus seal/whale watches, fishing trips, schooner voyages in-harbor and off-shore. There is plenty to see and do in all directions. And, its all within an easy one hour drive.
Or, just relax in the quiet rural atmosphere, read a book, sit or snooze on your private deck, stroll around outside or go fishing in the stream right out back.

Swimming at the State Beach five miles from the house. Boating and ice fishing on Damariscotta Lake. Snow mobiling and hiking through the woods or at Camden Hills State Park.
