Sleepy J offers nine newly constructed 1 and 2 bedroom cabins, smartly furnished with all the things necessary for "roughing it" in Swan Valley. All rooms feature queen size beds and queen size sleeper sofas, as well as kitchenettes, satellite television, phones and full, modern baths. VCRs and DSL internet access is also available.
FISHING THE SOUTH FORK
We are located within a stone's throw of the South Fork of the Snake River, unofficial trout capital of the world. World-class fishing for our native Cutthroat Trout and Brown Trout. Three boat access areas are within 15 minutes of our cabins. Boat rentals, shuttle service, guide services and tackle shops are all available in the area.
Fishing doesn't end with the Snake River. Nearby streams, ponds and lakes offer a magnitude of choices. Our cabins are all named after nearby streams and creeks that contain wonderful Brooke Trout and Cutthroats. And Palisades Reservoir is just down the road.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
Angler's are not the only ones that will enjoy our valley. Water skiers and boaters will enjoy the Palisades Reservoir, just 15 minutes down highway 26. Personal watercraft are also welcomed. Canoeing, kayaking and river rafting (both scenic and whitewater) are also very nearby.
Hiking, horseback riding, motorcycling/ATVs and just about anything else you can think of is within a short distance of the cabins.
FALL & WINTER ACTIVITIES
Swan Valley is a hunter's paradise. Our mountains and valleys contain some of the finest hunting from trophy elk and deer to waterfowl and upland game birds.
Winter offers acres of snowmobiling and cross country skiing. With McCoy Creek and Pine Creek located within minutes of the cabins, there is plenty to explore. And downhill skiing at the Grand Targhee Ski Resort is just an hour away, offering some of the finest snow in the Rockies. Not to mention the world famous Jackson Hole Ski Resort and Snow King Mountain in Jackson Hole.
SWAN VALLEY AMENITIES
Swan Valley offers several fine restaurants including the Angus, the Saddle Sore, the Sub Station and the Camp Grill, whether out for dinner, or just looking for a snack between trips down the river. Also nearby you can experience a fine dining sensation at the South Fork Lodge.
Swan Valley also boasts a remodeled gas station and convenience store, with some of the best homemade ice cream around.
JUST DOWN THE ROAD
We are also conveniently located to several unique communities - Idaho Falls, Victor and Driggs Idaho, as well as Alpine and Jackson, Wyoming, all worth the time to explore.
