Keystone is a rapidly growing community that is becoming known for its highly rated accommodations, mountain, and activities. Keystone is located a little over an hour west of Denver on Interstate 70 on Highway 6. The nearby towns of Dillon and Silverthorne offer everything to fill visitors needs outside of the resort such as a movie theatre, bowling alley, Target, grocery store, and plenty of other local shops and stores. Keystone Resort sits on the Snake River and includes three spectacular mountains: Dercum Mountain, North Peak and The Outback. Since being purchased by Vail Resorts, the resort has grown to include new skiing terrain, an improved activities center, and the new base area, River Run. Keystone offers 30 casual and fine dining restaurants including the award winning Keystone Ranch, Alpenglow Stube, Ski Tip Lodge, and Champeaux restaurants. The area is home to great nightlife including new clubs and bars in River Run and old time local favorites like the Goat. Adventure Point offers on mountain activities in lieu of skiing or riding. The spring, summer, and fall bring new kinds of fun to the area including the resort’s two award winning golf courses: the Keystone Ranch Golf Course and The River Course at Keystone. The 36 championship level holes and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain range have made Keystone one of the nation’s most respected golf resorts. The horse stables are also top of the line offering horseback rides on trails to the back of the ranch and wagon rides to western ranch-style lunches and dinners. The events and music festivals that take place in Keystone bring crowds including both locals and visitors. The Keystone Bluegrass and Beer festival features top-notch bluegrass acts and over 30 beers from breweries all over Colorado.
