Lakeside Another great way to enjoy the outdoors is through the beautiful paved path that circles Lake Estes. The path goes through a bird sanctuary, runs along a golf course and the Big Thompson River, through the lakeside picnic area and on the lakeshore. You can also view the area by riding the Estes Park Aerial Tramway and get a bird’s eye view of Longs Peak and the Continental Divide. Once the snow covers the mountains it’s time for some thrilling winter sports. Sprague Lake and Bear Lake areas are popular with cross country skiers while the adventurous can get their thrills at Sundance Mountain in the National Park. The Bear Lake area is also a good place for a moderate snowshoe hike. |
