4WD GETAWAYS are available at Bandusia and start from $495 per couple including guided trips and instruction. The local environment provides for exciting driving in remote and scenic surrounds. We cater for a scratch free weekend escape in your luxury all wheel drive/4WD. Learn to use your new vehicle in controlled but exciting situations including sand, river crossings, steep and rocky tracks and gravel roads. Your X5, Cross Country, ML and Range Rover are best tried out and experienced with us first. Call for a CD Video and a discussion. We specialise in group AWD and 4WD events.

Your Reception
The style of your reception is only limited by your imagination. Our function room offers space for up to 50 seated guests. For buffet and cocktail receptions we accommodate 65 to 80 guests and can incorporate a dance floor and DJ. The room has intimate lighting, cathedral ceilings and extensive use of natural timbers and French doors opening onto wooden decks overlooking the valley. Function Room from $350. Our poolside lawns offer an attractive outdoor option for spring and summer receptions. Long tables with white linen and market umbrellas, under a clear blue sky create a perfect setting for a memorable day.
Your Ceremony
Whether you desire a traditional wedding in the village’s 100 year old sandstone church, or a celebrant service under our pecan trees or in the gardens of Bandusia, you will have exclusion and privacy.
Your Menu and Drinks
While Bandusia Retreat is a BYO venue, full waiter services are provided for all events. An extensive choice of menus is available and some examples follow:
Dinner 3 Courses $75 per head + corkage maximum of 50 people;
Gourmet Buffet $59.50 per head + corkage maximum of 65 people;
Cocktail Hot & Cold Canapes $35 per head maximum of 80 people.
All prices include GST. Corkage ranges from $5 to $12 per head.
Bring your bikes, your runners and your hiking boots and of course swimming togs are a must. Enjoy the scenery and the fresh air with walks along the river, in the pecans or if you have the energy, try a steep mountain trek to the top of the Macdonald Ranges. You will be rewarded with spectacular views across the valley.
THE ART GALLERY in St Albans Village is a popular attraction as is the Settlers Arms pub which dates back to 1836 and is one of Australia's oldest operating inns. Great for a beer and a yarn with the locals, the village is just 10 minutes from Bandusia.
HORSE RIDING is available nearby at our farm stay property, First Farm. Book in early for a formal riding lesson, horse handling experiences or to ride out with experienced instructors into the many trails that give St Albans the reputation of one of the best riding locations in NSW. Rates start from $66 per person per session. St Albans is home to the world's longest horse race, The Shazada, which is held every August over 5 days and 400 kms.
HISTORIC SITES abound including the convict built Great Northern Road, First Farm 1820 with its convict grave yard and stone cottage. Much of our earliest history can be uncovered with a visit to the many historic locations in the Macdonald Valley. Our library contains numerous books and maps to help you uncover these attractions and plan your daily itineraries.
Deluxe Spa Rooms
-provide the ultimate in comfort and privacy, with marble bathrooms, Jacuzzi spa baths, queen or king beds, a writing desk and lounge chairs or couches in spacious designer surroundings. Room lighting is dimmer-controlled and includes sconces and recessed ceiling lights and plantation style overhead fans. The bathrooms are tiled in polished quarry tiles and marble and some include two-person spa tubs, separate shower, large mirrors, and most have spacious marble counters. All shower and bathing water is pure rainwater. All deluxe rooms feature balconies or decks overlooking the the valley and hills or the towering ironbark forest. To call these comfortable rooms 'elegant and sophisticated' is an understatement..
